what’s up with my name?

my birth name is Jerry Edward Goodwin. 

i have decided for writing purposes to go by j. edward goodwin.

honestly, i just think it sounds more like a writer than jerry goodwin.  i would prefer to still be called “jerry” by those of you who have always known me that way, but my nom de plume is j. edward goodwin.
